Introduction

Tuning long control stick tops with aluminium anodised body and CNC-machined centre section for KAVAN V20 and V15 transmitters or FrSky alternatives. They have a built-in two or three-position switch and push button. They will allow precise and easy switching of flight modes, on/off mixes, or even landing gear extension/retraction without having to drop the stick and "fumble" for the right switch.

Installation

  1. Disassemble the original stick you want to replace.
    1. Remove the handle using a 2mm hex key.
    2. Remove the stick from the gimbal using a 5mm wrench.
  2. Remove the core from the new stick and apply a threadlocker.
  3. Remove the battery compartment cover and the battery.
  4. Unscrew the rear case of the radio with a 2.5mm hex key. Caution: Be careful not to damage the antenna wires.
  5. Thread the stick cables through the gimbal.
  6. Secure the tuning stick on the gimbal using a 1.5mm hex key.
  7. Solder the wires of the stick according to the schematic below using a micro soldering iron.
  8. Bind the wires together with a zip tie. Make sure the gimbal moves freely and cut the excess zip tie.
  9. Double-check that the gimbal and switches move freely.
  10. Put the rear cover back on and tighten the 4 screws with a 2.5mm hex key.
  11. Insert and plug in the battery, and put on the battery compartment cover.
  12. In the ETHOS interface, create and set up the new switches.
