  1. Install the propeller specified for your model. Open the needle-valve 1-1/2 turns from the fully closed position and start the engine. Let it run for two or three minutes at the minimum speed at which it will run with a rich mixture.
  2. Close the needle-valve until the engine is running; let it run for 10 seconds, then open the needle to its original position for another 10 seconds. Repeat this procedure until the tank is used up.
  3. Set a reliable idle according to the Idle Adjustment diagram below.
  4. Restart, open the needle-valve about 1/2 to 1 turn, and let it run for three or four tanks.
  5. During subsequent flights (or engine starts), gradually close the needle- -valve to the optimal position. After six to ten flights, the engine should run reliably at the optimal setting. Do not rush the running-in process - the engine will reward you for this little care with good performance and long term reliable operation.
