KAVAN Smart PRO SF6 Servo fuse 6A - Instruction manual
Introduction[edit | edit source]
Congratulations on purchasing the Smart PRO SF6, an electronic servo fuse designed to protect the onboard power supply system in the model and increase the receiver's immunity to interference that may be communicated via the signal wires. SF6 is connected between the servo and the receiver, on each servo in the model.
Electronic servo fuse[edit | edit source]
SF6 not only protects the receiver and power system, but also offers other advantages appreciated in models with gasoline engines, where there is a lot of interference, and in models with longer power cables. SF6 is great when you use fast servos that need additional capacitance on the power supply.
SF6 is based on a resettable polymer fuse, rated for a continuous current of up to 6 A and a pulse current of up to 50 A. Today‘s servos do not generally reach such high current values and therefore the fuse is activated only in case of servo failure.
SF6 contains an amplifier for servo pulse which stabilizes the voltage level of the servo signal on output to 5V. Increasing the range between logical levels increases the immunity to interference from external sources. The signal amplifier is further equipped with an input servo signal filter, which filters out interference and unwanted signals transmitted over the wires to the servo. The amplifier is unidirectional and does not transmit further interference from the servo back to the receiver.
SF6 features power supply filtering that is complemented by capacitors that reduce the voltage ripple that is transmitted to the receiver and deteriorates the performance of the receiver.
SF6 contains one input from the receiver (female JR connector ) and one output (male JR connector) for the servo with mechanical protection of disconnecting.
Precautions[edit | edit source]
- Do not connect more than one servo to the output.
- We recommended placing SF6 at approximately half the distance between the receiver and servo.
